Constance began seeking hair care solutions for her clients in 2003. As an expert stylist, she styled a multitude of “natural hair scenarios” and discovered that natural hair required a different line of treatment.

After thorough research, Constance refined her hair care techniques to meet the science and texture of hair posing the question, “What works on what hair type?”

“It all started when I was a young girl, I really wanted to do something in my life to make a difference, but I only seemed to have the gifts of art: sewing, painting, drawing, and decorating and at that time it seemed like that was not the best way to make a good living as I was told. My heart was in being creative.

Fast forward, I decided to go to beauty school, which ended up being the first place I belonged. I was smart enough and was allowed to be creative all day, which brought me great delight. I knew I would remain in this field throughout my life journey. After beauty school, I went to work at JC Penney in the Chicago area. From there, I moved to Indianapolis and developed a deeper love for hair... I had this strange love for hair...I had never fallen in love with an object before and it seemed the more I learned about it, the more I loved it. I began to do all kinds of research and learn as much as I could about hair, and the more I learned, the more I was able to grow hair for most women and was happy to finally find my place in this life.

I left JC Penney and went on my own to the first natural hair salon in Indianapolis, Adaru Natural Hair Salon in 2003. I already knew how to take care of hair, Adaru is where I let go of the “creamy crack for myself” (relaxer) and from that point, transitioned all my clients to naturals! I have won multiple awards

in my profession. Now, I am in New Orleans, LA and am forging forward to help residents in the city by providing haircare expert advice and solutions for the most “realistic hospitable” clients that I have ever encountered. In NOLA, no one is a stranger and that feels nice. I have a great love for people and hair that I am quite sure God placed this in my heart and led me home to NOLA. I look forward to forging relationships and growing with the community.”
